I spent the summer of 2018 working on The History Of Food, an original series on the documentary streaming service, CuriosityStream.
There are five episodes, each focusing on a different area of food production and its effects on humans. I created a unique title sequence for each episode, and decided to create everything in-camera, meaning no visual effects or motion graphics would be added after the shoot. These were all shot by Andrei Zakow of DirtyWork on a RED EPIC-W HELIUM 8K S35.
I love to make things with my hands, and enjoyed the challenge of practical problem solving. In addition to the title cards, I also created in-show graphics (such as maps and anatomical drawings) that were created in After Effects, but I tried to keep some of the tactile feeling of the title cards in those graphics as well.
The History Of Food will be available to stream on CuriosityStream starting November 15th, 2018.
